E.G. Sturgis writes historical fiction rooted in the people, places, and unfinished questions of the Carolina Lowcountry. A tenth-generation native of the region, he approaches early Carolina not as a distant setting, but as a living inheritance—beautiful, complicated, and still present in the landscape.

A retired Lieutenant Colonel and an active supporter of Lowcountry charitable causes, Sturgis brings a disciplined researcher’s eye and a storyteller’s instinct to the overlooked lives that shaped Charleston before the Revolution. The Saga of Carolina is his long-form project: a sequence of historical novels following the ambitions, loyalties, discoveries, and human costs behind the making of the colony.
